A stump grinder is a designated specialist piece of machinery that specifically removes tree stumps. Built on a wheeled or tracked chassis they come in different engine sizes and power.
The engine drives a cutter wheel that houses tungsten cutting teeth that when engaged by the engine rotates the cutting wheel at such a speed that it chips out the stump until the tree stump is removed leaving a hole where the stump once stood.
